The man falls overcome by wine, game and lust: the first card of the deck held up by the dwarf in the center is a two of swords, an allusion to the female sex. A smaller version of the subject is preserved at the Fondazione Querini Stampalia in Venice (U. Ruggeri, Pietro and Marco Liberi. Pittori nella Venezia del Seicento, Rimini 1996, pp. 148-149 no. P76).
